Charlotte Chilton has tearfully spoken about the father of her baby for the first time.
The Traitors UK star is currently expecting her first child, which she announced in April.
In an emotional update, Charlotte, 33, told followers that after careful deliberation, she has decided that it was the right time to open up.
In the Instagram video, she reveals the dad is called Conor, but didn’t state the surname. Charlotte then confirmed toMetro.co.ukthat the identity of her baby’s birth father is singer Conor Maynard.
‘I’ve really toyed with whether this is the right thing to do or not,’ she began.
She continued: ‘I’ve sort of hidden a lot of things in the protection of somebody else through this process.
‘I decided that the best thing is to always be open and honest. Essentially I have not named the father in protection of him.’
Charlotte claims she was warned by a PR that she could be hated. However, she has decided the baby means more to her. She also said keeping a secret has had a detrimental impact on her mental health.
‘I’m prepared to do this alone, but I’m not prepared to have my daughter have to grow up and not be able to say who her father is, or should I say, birth father, or hide it from her,’ she said.
‘She deserves to know where she comes from. I’m not a secret, she’s not a dirty secret. I won’t be silenced.’
It’s at this point she says the name Conor for the first time, and claims they first met after a Traitors wrap party, before beginning to see each other.
The singer’s sister Anna Maynard is in a relationship with her co-star Harry Clarke, who walked away with the prize fund of £95,150 on Claudia Winkleman’sBBCmurder mystery game show.
‘I am standing up for myself regardless of if it comes back to me. I just can’t do this be quiet, and shut up anymore,’ she said.
‘I feel like I just don’t matter, and I just don’t want that for my daughter so even though this makes me feel sick to do because everyone’s told me not to, in terms of his PR and stuff.’
Charlotte who has already decided the baby’s name – Penelope – added that she has support.
‘My friends and family are behind me. The cast are behind me that I need to put Penelope first. When I say the cast, I mean the majority of the cast. But I’m speaking out, I won’t be silenced anymore and now you all know,’ she concluded.
Charlotte announced her pregnancy last month and told followers she’d previously been told it wouldn’t happen for her.
‘After 7 miscarriages over my 20s, failed Insemination, failed IVF I was told “It probably won’t happen for you”,’ she wrote.
‘These words for a lot of women, are the words you never want to hear! Yet someone decided I deserved a wish answering and I am now going to have my own little miracle.’

Conor released his first single Can’t Say No in 2012 when he was still a teenager, and it hit number two on the UK charts. After gaining popularity on YouTube and singing for Warner Brothers, he was likened to Justin Bieber but didn’t always agree with this comparison.
In the same year as his debut, Conor won MTV’sBrand New award, beating out competition from Lana Del Rey.
Over the course of his career, Conor has released three albums, the most recent in 2023, +11 Hours and worked with stars Ne-Yo, LabrinthandTravie McCoy.
Conor, who previously dated Love Island 2023 bombshell Layla Al-Momani, has often been inspired by his relationships while creating music and has released personal songs This Is My Version, What I Put You Through and If I Ever.
While on the show, Layla said: ‘My ex is a famous singer. He wrote a few songs about me since we broke up.’
On top of his music, Conor has starred in the West End production Kinky Boots, and the TV show Dream Team.
