Ultimate Nail Wrap Review - I do deClaire (1)

I’m so excited to finally be sharing this post with you all! It’s something I have been working on since January. When I noticed that 2 of my most popular posts from 2020 were reviews on nail wraps and tips on how to apply nail wraps, I immediately set to work. At the time I had only tested out 4 brands. I’ve spent a lot of time wearing and reviewing 5 additional brands in their solids and glitter colors to give you an even more comprehensive review.

This is not a sponsored post. I did receive the Mani Me wraps to try for free, but not for this blog post.

Ultimate Nail Wrap Review - I do deClaire (2)

Main line, Luxury line, Bella wraps

    • free shipping on orders $20+
    • only available on their website
    • Main Line $3 (light pink with glitter reverse french mani)
      • 2-3 manis per package
      • They go on smoothly
      • Can get 2 nails per strip depending on design (french tip only on one edge)
      • Need a nail file to file off excess, can’t perforate with nail.
    • Luxury Line $5 (pink with glitter accent nail & pink metallic with glitter)
      • has a strong nail polish smell
      • easy to apply
      • can get 2 nails per strip
      • can perforate easily (similar to colorstreet)
      • can remove with nail polish remover, but takes about 10 minutes
    • Bella Wraps $5 (light pink and sparkle accent nail)
      • feel thin
      • can only use one strip per nail
      • 2 manis per package
      • chipping at edges, 1 did fall off after a few days for me
      • were easy and quick to put on
      • needed oil to remove, nail polish remover did not work
    • OVERALL
      • Main line wore the best during the week. I had no issues with falling off. That would be the only line I would ever recommend, but I probably wouldn’t repurchase any of these.
  • Nails Mailed $4-$6

Ultimate Nail Wrap Review - I do deClaire (3)

    • free shipping
    • 2 nails per strip if you have short nails
    • about 2 manis per package
    • only available on their website
    • many options
    • glitter strips are very thick an have a hard time bonding to curved nails, I had 4 come off 12 hours after application
    • solid colors are thinner and go on more easily
    • application instructions are not detailed
    • needs a top coat or starts to look matte and feel sticky after a few days
    • after a week there is a small amount of wear at the tips
    • some of the packages have solid color that does not look like nail polish, the color is printed on and looks almost pixelated
    • OVERALL
      • I would avoid the glitter ones. If you are going to get any, try the solid colors.
  • Polish Pops $9

Ultimate Nail Wrap Review - I do deClaire (4)

    • free shipping on orders over $20
    • only available on their website
    • 2-3 manis per package
    • can get 2 nails from 1 strip
    • feel thinner, but apply easily
    • easy to file off extra
    • can be difficult to peel off clear protective layer
    • they can loose shine after 1 day or so, but a layer of clear nail polish will help that
    • minimal wear at tips after a week
    • minimal lifting at edges after a week
    • they came off easily with nail polish remover, but I needed to go over them twice, once for the color and another time to get the adhesive off
    • OVERALL
      • The solid colors look nice and hold their shine. . It’s nice not to need a top coat. The designs look polished and sophisticated overall. For the price though, I prefer Dashing Diva.
  • Lily & Fox $2.99

Ultimate Nail Wrap Review - I do deClaire (5)

    • free shipping
    • only available on their website
    • send an extra practice set with each order
    • can use 1 wrap on 2 nails if your nails are short
    • I’ve had issues with them coming off after a few days, especially pointer finger
    • designs are upside down compared to photos
    • they are on the thicker side
    • can feel sticky/tacky after a few days from hot water, but a top coat will prevent this
    • very easy and quick to remove, can remove with just orange stick, but oil helps prevent damage on nails
    • it does take a bit of pressure and time to apply to help them adhere to the edges and curve to your nails
    • some minor lifting on edges after about 4 days and very minor/no chipping
    • storage is easy because they don’t dry out over time so no need to reseal
    • Solid color
      • more flexible and stays on better than glitter
      • minor wear and lifting at tips and edges
    • Clear designs with a little accent glitter
      • goes on well over other nail wrap brands
      • stays on with top coat
      • thin, similar to solid color wraps
    • Glitter
      • very thick
      • stiff
      • need to file off excess
      • comes off easily
    • OVERALL
      • For the price they are great practice to get better at application. They are also nice for children. The only type I would repurchase are the translucent ones with glitter to use as accents over top of other nail wraps though.
  • Mani Me $15+ a set

Ultimate Nail Wrap Review - I do deClaire (6)

    • only available on their website
    • most expensive
    • 1 mani per set with 5 extras
    • very high shine
    • fit is personalized, perfect for you
    • very little wear at tips, some lifting after 5 days
    • easy application, takes about 10 minutes because they are already sized
    • because they are designed to completely cover your nail, a steady hand is needed for application
    • need glass file
    • no base coat or top coat needed
    • minor damage on nail after removal even with oil
    • OVERALL
      • Too expensive for the overall look. The personalized sizing is nice, but it’s about the cost of a salon manicure with some of their more elaborate designs. They do stay on well though.

  • Smitten Nails– These gel nail wraps that you cure with a light. They are absolutely beautiful and cost efficient, too.
    • For between $12-18 a set
    • you can get about 3 manicures per set
    • many unique and beautiful designs
    • I cured them for 3 minutes each
    • The photos you see are after a week of wear.
    • best at-home nail strips I’ve ever tried in regards to durability
      • absolutely no chips
      • One or two of my fingers had a slight lifting on the corner of the clear top coat by the end of the week. (This may have been due to curing them too long. I might try 2 minutes next time.)
    • For each set, I tried removing them different ways. The first time I tried their nail polish remover with an orange stick. I did see some damage. The next time I tried soaking my nails in warm water for 10 minutes then an orange stick. That worked much better and there was no damage that time.
    • OVERALL
      • I was impressed with the durability and strength. The nail wraps are nice and thick! They are easy to apply as well and only took a few extra minutes with the nail lamp. I will be trying these again!

After all of the wraps I’ve tried and taking all factors into account, I still have to say Dashing Diva is my favorite. Their availability at Ulta, Target, Walmart, and their website makes them easy to get. The pricing is right at $6-$10 per package and 2-3 manicures per set. There is also a nice selection of solids, glitters, and designs. For me, they are easy to apply, easy to remove and cause no damage to my nails. And they do not dry out over time. They seem to last the longest and be the most durable as well. Smitten is my second favorite due to the durability. They look really professional, too. Colorstreet and Incoco are my final favorites. I shared some tips on how to apply nail wraps.

I hope you all find this helpful! If you have any questions, I’m happy to try and answer them for you!
