All-Metro boys track and field first team
Sprints: Tristan Williams, senior, MICDS
Missouri's Class 4 state champion in the 200 and 400 meters. Concluded his Rams career with personal-best times of 21.52 seconds in the 200 and 47.71 in the 400. He claimed district and sectional titles in both races this season, as well. His personal best time of 21.52 in the 200 tied for second-best in the area and his 47.71 is the area's best time in the 400.Also ran a leg on Rams state champion 800 relay (1:27.35).

Middle: Troy McLean, junior, Belleville West
Captured the Illinois Class 3A state championship in the 400 meters with a time of 47.94 seconds, this season's second-best among area athletes. He captured six individual championships in the 400, including the Southwestern Conference meet. Also anchored West's 1600 relay that captured the Class 3A state championship with an area-best time of 3:17.24. That foursome won eight titles, including the SWC and sectional meets.
Distance: Levi Rowan, senior, Kirkwood
The 2023 All-Metro cross country runner of the year capped his high school career with a Missouri Class 5 state championship in the 3200 meters. He captured five individual championships in the 3200 and ran a personal-best time of 9:09.35 at the state meet, which was the fastest among area athletes this season. Signed with Tulsa, Rowan also had five top-five finishes in the 1600, including third place at state.
Hurdles: Louis Yohannes, junior, Triad
Illinois Class 2A state champion in the 110-meter hurdles in a personal- and area-best time of 14.36 seconds.He captured seven individual championships in the 110 hurdles.Swept Mississippi Valley Conference titles in the 110 and 300 hurdles, won the sectional meet in the 110s and helped Triad pick up medals at the state meet in two relays, running legs on runner-up 400 relay (42.15) and 800 relay that finished fifth (1:29.14).
Vertical jumps: Brandon Johnson, senior, McCluer
The Comets senior went undefeated in the high jump this season and repeated as Missouri's Class 4 state champion in the event with a leap of 1.99 meters (6 feet, 6.25 inches). Johnson's personal best jump of 2.06 meters (6 feet, 9.75 inches) came in the first meet of the season and was the area's best. He captured eight high jump titles, the district and sectional meets. Johnson also ran the 110-meter hurdles and on relays.
Horizontal jumps: Joseph Anderson, senior, Westminster
University of Iowa football signee captured a Missouri Class 5 state championship in the triple jump with a leap of 15.16 meters (49 feet, 9 inches), a personal best that ranked only behind Edwardsville's Malik Allen among area athletes. Anderson also was a triple jump state champ as a sophom*ore and runner-up as a junior. Also fourth at state in the long jump (7.12 meters; 23 feet, 4.5 inches) and qualified for state in the 110 hurdles this season.
Throws: Iose Epenesa, junior, Edwardsville
Helped Tigers win Illinois Class 3A team state championship with his second-place discus finish. Threw personal-best 57.88 meters (189 feet, 10 inches) for best finish in three state meet appearances. He never finished below second in nine discus competitions and his four individual championships included the Southwestern Conference meet. Also was 12th at state in shot put, and his personal best was 16.88 meters (55 feet, 4.75 inches).
Multi-events: Jaydon Marley, senior, Metro
Finished his Metro career with Missouri Class 3 state championships in both the 100 and 200 meters. His personal best time of 10.72 seconds in the 100 is the fourth-fastest time among area athletes and his 21.72 in the 200 ranks in the area's top five. Marley also finished fourth at state in 400 in 49.39. Won the 100 six times and the 200 five times this season. Signed with St. Louis University.
All-Metro boys track and field second team
Sprints: Omar Mims, junior, O'Fallon
The Illinois Class 3A state champion in the 200 meters and runner-up in the 100. Mims had area-best times of 10.54 in the 100 and 21.43 in the 200. Swept Southwestern Conference and sectional titles in the 100 and 200.
Middle: Michael Clark, sophom*ore, Lutheran North
Won Missouri's Class 3 state championship in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 47.88 seconds that was second-fastest among area athletes. Also was a district champion in the 200.
Distance: Graham Stevener, junior, Kirkwood
Missouri Class 5 state runner-up in the 1600 meters (4:07.80) and third-place finisher in the 800 (1:53.14). Ran leg on third-place 3200 relay at state. Sectional champ in both the 800 and 1600. Won conference in 3200.
Hurdles: Kelvin Coleman, senior, Hazelwood Central
Ran area-best time of 37.31 seconds to finish second in 300-meter hurdles in Missouri Class 5 state meet after finishing third in event as junior and sixth as sophom*ore. Helped Central's 800 relay to sixth-place state finish.
Vertical jumps: Devyon Hill-Lomax, sophom*ore, Edwardsville
Contributed to Edwardsville's dominance season with five top-five finishes in high jump, including a Southwestern Conference championship. Class 3A state qualifier, his best leap of 2.01 meters was area's second best.
Horizontal jumps: Kanden Bolton, senior, Crystal City
Maryville signee won Class 2 state long jump title with area-best and state meet classification record of 7.48 meters (24 feet, 6.5 inches). Also second at state in triple jump, third in high jump, ran on fourth-place 400 relay.
Throws: Devin Habermehl, junior, Collinsville
Fourth in Illinois Class 3A state meet in both shot put and discus. Threw PR and area best 17.96 meters (58 feet, 11.25 inches) in shot at state. Season best of 55.04 meters in discus was third best in area. Swept sectional titles.
Multi-events: Shaun Roberts, senior, Ladue
Helped Rams to Class 4 team state championship by earning points in four events, including the 100-meter title. Also ran leg on winning 400 relay, third-place 800 relay and was sixth in the 200. Season best in 100 was 10.77.
All-Metro boys track and field third team
Sprints: Clayton Lakatos, junior, Edwardsville
Ran legs on Edwardsville's Illinois Class 3A state champion 400-meter relay and runner-up 800 relay, both of which ran area-best times. Was runner-up in 200 in 21.52 seconds. Helped Tigers claim team championship.
Middle: Gavin Via, senior, Ladue
A key cog in the Rams Class 4 team state championship. Via ran a leg on Ladue's winning 1600-meter relay (3:17.78) and was runner-up in the 400 with a personal-best time of 47.93 seconds.
Distance: Carson Driemeier, sophom*ore, Festus
Missouri's Class 4 state champion in the 3200 meters. Ran personal-best 9:11.71 in 3200 early in the season, which was area's second-best time. Also was fourth at state in 1600 and ran on fourth-place 3200 relay.
Hurdles: Nick Marchetti, senior, Hillsboro
Qualified for Missouri's Class 4 state meet in four events, winning 300 hurdles in 38.95 seconds. Also fourth in 110 hurdles in 14.86. Helped Hawks finish fourth in team race. Four-sport athlete heading to Rockhurst University for soccer.
Vertical jumps: Leo Flynn, junior, Parkway Central
Pole vaulter finished no lower than second all season, capped by runner-up finish in Missouri Class 4 state meet with jump of 4.47 meters (14 feet, 8.25 inches). Personal best was 4.73 meters to win district meet (15 feet, 6.25 inches).
Horizontal jumps: Cameron Cason, junior, Francis Howell
Three-event qualifier for Missouri's Class 5 state meet, Cason was one of area's best in both long jump and triple jump. Finished second in triple jump at state meet withpersonal-best leap of 14.34 meters (46 feet, 11 inches).
Throws: Zavier Winton, junior Troy Buchanan
Runner-up in Missouri Class 5 state meet in the discus with a personal-best throw of 59.09 meters (193 feet, 10 inches) that was area's best. Unbeaten going into state, including conference, district and sectional titles.
Multi-events: Kenneth Buchanon, senior, East St. Louis
Helped the Flyers win the Illinois Class 2A team state championship by winning the 200-meter title in 21.73 seconds, just a tick off the personal-best 21.49 he ran in the preliminaries. Also was state qualifier in long jump.
